Introducing Jen Pinkston – our latest influencer to be profiled on our blog.  Jen is a mom, wardrobe stylist and author of, a lifestyle focused blog on of-the-moment trends in fashion, interior design, before-and-after reveals, and never-ending tips and tricks for adding style and function into your every day.  She also was our special guest at the RhythmInfluence Launch Party in Austin, TX.

RhythmInfluence Team (RI): How did you get started?
Jen: I was a wardrobe stylist and decided one day to start publishing the inspiration boards I was creating for clients to a wordpress site and voila—a blog was born!

RI: Favorite thing about being an influencer?
Jen: I love getting to be involved in projects now from the concept creation to the styling to the copy writing and marketing of the content.  I’m constantly learning, trying new things and I love that.  It also keeps me awake at night, drives me to work crazy hours, but I love doing something that I’m so passionate about.  I will never take that for granted.

RI: What inspires you?
I always feel the most inspired when I’m traveling.  My head feels clearer in a new place.

RI: Most adventurous thing you’ve done or fear that you have conquered?
Jen: Hiking in the alps!  Cliff jumping in Hawaii! Moving to LA right after college not knowing anyone!

RI: What has been your favorite/most rewarding campaign to work on – and why?
So many!  Our Coach style campaign we did a few years ago was our first big multi-post campaign, so that one will always be special.  The helicopter ride we took to Arrowhead Springs was pretty memorable too.  I love the summer grilling video we made for Bertolli this summer.  Every project is so different and so creatively stimulating.  Have I mentioned how much I love this job?!

RI: Why do you think influencer marketing is so powerful?
Jen: It’s word of mouth marketing amplified across a much larger platform.  When influence is done right, your audience trusts you and your recommendations.

RI: Based on your experience, what is one piece of advice you’d give to brands to help them work best with you (and other influencers)?
Find an influencer with a compelling point of view, someone you gravitate towards and that you think your market will too.  Look at engagement.  Are people commenting? Does the influencer comment back?  If you love what the influencer creates day in and day out and their audience is engaging with that content, trust them when they suggest ideas and express their opinions.

RI: What are five things you can’t live without?
Jen: My family, Almond Milk Lattes, Porter Magazine, Trips to new places, Products from The Body Deli

RI: Favorite invention of all time?
Jen: The iPhone

RI: Favorite pig out food?

RI: Who was one of your celebrity crushes growing up?
Jen: Jonathan Taylor Thomas… Duh!

RI: What’s one thing on your bucket list?
Jen: Live in another country for a year.

RI: What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
The first thing I ever wanted to be was the President of the United States.  When I was in high school I used to go and attend Austin City Council meetings in preparation for my future job in the White House!
